Crafting

The Crafter NPC will build you potions, wings, accessories and most of the Elite gear ladder — 1,340 recipes in all. The recipes are the easy part. This page is mostly about the hard part: where the materials actually come from.

Find the right smith

Every town has two of them, and they are not interchangeable. The Crafter builds things out of materials. The other one enchants, sockets and evolves gear you already own — that is a different job and a different guide.

How it works

One window, one roll per item

Talk to the Crafter and the full recipe tree opens. Pick something and it shows you the materials, the heim and the odds before you commit.

  1. 1

Pick the recipe, not the material

The tree is organised by what comes out — potions, wings, accessories, Elite gear. You choose the result and the window tells you what it wants.
  2. 2

    Check the percentage

Every recipe carries its own success rate. 875 of the 1,340 are a flat 100% and simply cannot fail. The rest run down through 50%, 30% and 20% to a floor of 5%.
  3. 3

    Bring everything at once

Materials have to be in your inventory, in full, before the button will do anything. Nothing is taken until you press it.
  4. 4

    Craft several in one go

You can queue a batch. Each item in that batch rolls its own success independently, so ten attempts at 50% is ten separate coin flips rather than one.
A failed craft keeps your materials. They are consumed on the attempt, not on the result — a 20% recipe eats five sets of materials for one item, on average. The heim fee works the same way: it is charged for every attempt in the batch, whether anything came out or not. Only the guild crafting perk can save materials from a failure, and only on a roll of its own.

The one rule worth learning

Rank decides the drop, not the zone

This is the thing that makes material farming click. The same monster ranks drop the same materials in every region of the game. Moving to a higher zone changes the tier you get, but killing ordinary trash will never produce a boss material no matter how high the level.

Monster rankWhat it drops for craftingTypical rate
GeneralGlass bottles, Noblesse and Strength Crystals, Extra Stones — the potion feedstock5% bottles, 0.4% crystals
Elite / LeaderThe same list, at roughly half the rate. Not worth seeking out for materials.0.2 – 0.4%
Mid-bossThe real materials: Magical Power, ether liquids and vials, Crystals of Protection and Destruction10 – 91%
Boss / LuckyThe same mid-boss table, and the only source of the top crystal tiers4 – 91%
Named monsters are where crafting materials live. A general monster's whole crafting contribution is a 5% bottle and a 0.4% crystal — everything else on this page comes off something with a name.

Potion materials

The stuff that drops off anything

Recovery potions and their ingredients are built from what ordinary monsters shed. You will pick these up without trying; the only question is whether you kill enough.

Common Glass Bottle

Common Glass Bottle

5% from anything

The base of every crafted potion. Drops from every rank in every region at a flat 5%, and the general stores sell them too — there is never a reason to farm one deliberately.

Noblesse Crystal

Noblesse Crystal

0.4% from anything

The other half of a Recovery Potion. A flat 0.4% off general and leader monsters everywhere, half that off elites and bosses. Ten Noblesse Crystal Fragments also compose into one for 50,000 heim, guaranteed.

Strength Crystal

Strength Crystal

0.4% from anything

Identical drop profile to the Noblesse. It feeds the Instant Recovery line, and ten Fragments compose into one the same way.

Extra Stone

Extra Stone

0.2% from anything

The scarce one of the four, at half the crystal rate. If you are short, 50 Noblesse plus 50 Strength Crystals compose into one for 100,000 heim at 100% — usually faster than waiting for the drop.

Buff potion materials

Named monsters only

The Cheetah, Wolf, Bear, Falcon and Snake potion lines want three things at once — a soul stone, an ether liquid and a magical power tier — and all three come off mid-bosses and bosses. Clearing named monsters as you pass is the whole strategy.

Magical Power Powder

Magical Power Powder

91% · low level

Astonishingly common off named monsters in the first three regions — 91% in the Forest of Beasts and the Etherain Sewer, 82% in the Frozen Palace. The lowest-level material on this page and the easiest to stockpile.

Magical Power Fragment

Magical Power Fragment

70% · level 133+

The next tier up, and it moves to the late zones: 70% off named monsters in the Land of Eternal Castle, the Gate of Heaven, the Kortoq Coastline and Galenoa Jungle. The rate is generous but only a couple of monsters per region carry it, so composing ten Powders into one for 50,000 heim is usually faster than hunting for it.

Magical Power Piece

Magical Power Piece

20% · level 133+

The same monsters as the Fragment, a third as often. Ten Fragments compose into one for 100,000 heim at 100%, which is usually the better route.

Magical Power Lump

Magical Power Lump

10% · level 133+

The top tier, 10% off the same late-zone named monsters. Ten Pieces compose into one for 150,000 heim, guaranteed.

Soul Stones

Soul Stones

20% · any region

One per potion line — Cheetah, Wolf, Bear, Falcon, Snake. A flat 20% off mid-bosses, bosses and lucky monsters in every region from the Forest of Beasts to the Land of Eternal Castle, so farm them wherever you already are.

Ether Crude Liquid

Ether Crude Liquid

91% · low level

Four grades, Normal through Shiny. The Normal grade comes off named monsters in the first three regions at the same 91% as the Powder — the two drop together, which is why early named monsters are worth the detour.

Vials

Vials

70 – 91%

One Drop through Four Drop, and they track the zone tier: One Drop at 91% early, Two Drop at 70% off named monsters at level 133 and above. These are the one late material with real volume behind them — the Land of Eternal Castle and the Gate of Heaven each field close to two hundred named spawns, so vials pile up faster than anything else you go there for.

Fight Coin

Fight Coin

black market

Not a drop at all. The Black Market Operator — one each in Waldchen, Aukra, Tringel and Kortoq — sells them for 9 Bloodstained Tokens. They buy into the [W-2] battlefield Elite sets, and the same merchant stocks soul stones and vials for tokens if you would rather not farm them.

Endgame materials

Crystals, and the one place worth the trip

Hephasto's pre-enchanted +9 Elite armour, the evolution additives, the wings and the second Elite tier all run on two crystal families. Both come off named monsters at level 135 and above — and one zone carries so many of them that nowhere else is close.

Crystal of Protection

Crystal of Protection

Sonen Shine Fortress

Three levels, and all three come out of the Sonen Shine Fortress: Lv.1 at 40%, Lv.2 at 52%, Lv.3 at 4%. The fortress carries 27 different named monsters across 57 spawn points, so a full clear is worth twenty-odd crystals. Nothing else in the game comes close for these.

Crystal of Destruction

Crystal of Destruction

same monsters

The aggressive counterpart and much rarer — 10% for Lv.1 and 13% for Lv.2, off the same fortress monsters that drop the Protection crystals. One clear collects both families, so there is never a reason to farm them separately.

Spirit Stone of Crimson

Spirit Stone of Crimson

1.5% · level 129

Wanted by 344 recipes — the wings and the whole second Elite tier — which makes it the most demanded drop on this page. 1.5% off the level-129 named monsters that populate the Corrupted Temple tier of every region. You can also craft it, but read the last section first.

Lv.4 Mayan Jewel & Metal

Lv.4 Mayan Jewel & Metal

merchant only

Between them these two are wanted by 427 recipes each, more than anything else in the game. No monster drops a Mayan piece at any level. They come from one merchant and one ladder, which is the next section.

The last column is what makes the difference. A single named monster at 80% is worth less per trip than fifty-seven at 40% — which is why the Sonen Shine Fortress, and not the higher-percentage lone spawns elsewhere, is the crystal farm.

The Mayan ladder

The 427-recipe bottleneck

Lv.4 Mayan Jewels and Metals are the most demanded materials in the game and no monster anywhere drops one. Every Mayan piece traces back to a merchant who takes online points — the ones you earn simply for being logged in.

Lv.1 Mayan JewelLv.1 Mayan MetalLv.4 Mayan JewelLv.4 Mayan Metalfive of each rung makes one of the next
RungWhere it comes fromOdds
Lv.1 Jewel / MetalOnline Point Merchant — Cronous in Waldchen, Temps in Aukra — 1 point each
Lv.2 Jewel / MetalThe same merchant, 3 points each. Or craft from 5 × Lv.1 for 17,000 / 15,000 heim.80%
Lv.3 Jewel / MetalCraft from 5 × Lv.2, 19,000 / 17,000 heim60%
Lv.4 Jewel / MetalCraft from 5 × Lv.3, 21,000 / 19,000 heim50%
Online points accrue at 2 an hour just for being logged in, and you can hold 500 at a time — so a point is thirty minutes played.
Buy the Lv.2, never the Lv.1. Because every rung is five-into-one and can fail, the cost compounds hard. Starting from bought Lv.1 pieces, one Lv.4 works out at about 521 points and 2.1 million heim. Starting from bought Lv.2 pieces at 3 points each, the same Lv.4 costs about 250 points and 359,000 heim — less than half, for a shelf price that looks three times worse.

Worth knowing

Three shortcuts and one dead end

A few things that only show up once you compare a recipe against what the material would cost to get any other way.

Farm the Spirit Stone, do not craft it

The recipe turns one Lv.4 Mayan Jewel and two Lv.4 Metals into one Spirit Stone of Crimson, at 50%. Priced through the point merchant that is roughly 1,500 online points — around 750 hours logged in — for a stone that drops at 1.5% from level-129 named monsters. The recipe exists for people with points to burn, not as the intended route.

Compose the potion crystals rather than waiting

Noblesse and Strength Crystals drop at 0.4% and Extra Stones at 0.2%, but the compose recipes for all three are flat 100%. If you are sitting on fragments or spare crystals, turning them up is guaranteed where the drop is not.

Read the spawn count, not just the percentage

The highest drop rates in the game sit on lone named monsters. Spini in the Kortoq Coastline drops Crystal of Protection Lv.1 at 80% — the best rate anywhere — but there is exactly one Spini, so a trip yields under one crystal. The Sonen Shine Fortress pays 40%, from fifty-seven spawns. Half the rate, thirty times the crystals. Kill the lone ones on the way past; farm the crowded zones.

The gathering nodes are not for crafting

The collectable objects scattered around the world look like the obvious place to gather materials, and they are not: all 572 of them yield quest items and Area Conquest treasure. Not one produces a material used by any of the 1,340 recipes. Materials come from kills, from merchants, and from the Crafter itself.
