What's in the game

The whole retail campaign, the seven-tier Elite gear ladder, three separate ways to fight other players, and the work that has gone into the client since. An honest inventory rather than a feature list.

The world you level through

The retail campaign, whole. Nothing was cut down to make a short private-server run out of it, and nothing was rebalanced to make it quicker.

190 maps with live monsters

Roughly a thousand distinct monster types across them, from the Forest of Beasts outside the first town to the volcano zones that were the last thing retail shipped. The spawn tables are the ones baked into each map, not a hand-written replacement.

1,600 quests

The full quest script, including the daily rotation and the repeatable chains. Kill, gather and collect quests all draw their target area on the map now — that was added on this server, because the original client only ever did it for kill quests.

Two continents

Brakion and Serient, with the world map's place names in English on both. The plates are painted artwork rather than text, so this took grafting an English revision of the same art back into the client.

Level 1 to 177

On the original experience curve, and open all the way from the day a character is made: every character starts with its class change already done, so there is no wall at 115 to get past. Every character gets five free stat resets, so a build that does not work costs you little more than the trip back to town.

The gear ladder

One set, taken all the way. This is the spine of the end game and the thing most worth understanding before you get there.

Seven Elite tiers, 68 to 146

E-1, E-1.5, E-2, E-2.5, E-3, E-3.5, E-4 — for every one of the eight playable classes, with a distinct name and a distinct look at each step. Weapons run the identical ladder alongside the armour.

Awakening, +1 to +9

Flat defence on top of the base value, on every piece of every tier. A fully awakened piece is worth roughly double an unawakened one, which makes +9 the real target rather than the next tier up.

Evolution, not replacement

You do not farm the next set. An evolution additive converts the piece you are wearing into its counterpart one tier higher, all the way from level 68 to level 146.

Enchanting and sockets on top

Enchant levels stack on the same items, and Zard gems slot into sockets for extra options — 338 socket options and 133 Zard options in the tables. A finished piece is an Elite item that has been awakened, enchanted and socketed.

Fighting other players

Three separate systems, none of which is the same fight, and one full-set bonus that only matters in them.

Battlefields, 6 versus 6

Zapir Battlefield and Frost Battlefield are objective matches to 2,500 points; Gold Rush is a scramble in the Tomb of Desire where kills bank points and dying hands a share of them to the other team. Level 140 and up, six a side.

Chaos Zone

The same two battlefields run as a Chaos Zone match, quoted at levels 160 to 177 — the top-end version of the same maps, and where reputation with the battlefield factions is earned.

Temple of Blood, 32 territories

A weekly guild siege over thirty-one regions and the Mondschein fortress, every Saturday morning. Any guild can take part — there is no bid to pay — and holding a region gives every member of the guild a bonus all week, plus the only way into that region's temple, where the lucky monsters drop finished Elite gear.

Gladiator's Elite sets

Two tiers, W-1 and W-2, bought with battlefield materials rather than evolved. They give up a little defence for stun and knockdown resistance, a flat cut to damage taken from players, and up to 2,000 extra SD — the only full-set bonus in the game that does anything in a duel.

Systems that run alongside

The parts of SUN that are not levelling and not gear, all present and all working.

965 achievements, 480 of which pay

Grouped by region and chained — later tasks unlock behind earlier ones. The level milestones are the ones worth knowing about: they hand over a free Elite 1 set at 120 and 130, its weapon at 110, and Mayan crafting material at every milestone from 60 to 170.

Collections and the monster book

613 collection entries and 390 monster-book drops. Both are long-tail goals for the zones you are already grinding rather than separate content to go and do.

Pets and mounts

221 pet entries and 18 mounts, with mount equipment — champron, barding and boots — that is upgraded and cleaned like any other gear. Pets carry their own loyalty and satisfaction, and the better ones pay a bonus for keeping them fed.

Cube, titles, reputation

Cube composition turns junk into something usable; 71 titles and 25 reputation tracks give the long-running characters something to chase. The daily attendance log pays out per month, keyed to the calendar.

Costumes and wings

83 wing skins and 20 weapon skins wearable by any class, as display-only costume items that sit over whatever you are actually holding.

What has changed on this server

Work done here, on top of the 2016 client — the things you will not find in an untouched copy of the game.

A launcher that patches

The client keeps almost everything in one 5 GB pack, which used to mean a single reward-table change cost a 2.8 GB re-download. Launcher.exe now fetches only what changed, verifies every file against a SHA-256, and repairs a half-finished download on the next start.

Quest markers that work

Kill, gather and collect quests all mark their target area on the minimap and the world map, clicking the circle walks you there, and the marker survives a zone change instead of reverting.

Inventory sort

A button in the bag that merges duplicate stacks and packs everything to the front, grouped by item type. Server-authoritative, so the result is what actually gets saved.

English where it was Korean

The world map's place names, the loading screens, the login screen. The intro movie is gone. Client crashes now leave a report in your log folder instead of vanishing.

A ninth class, in progress

The Paladin — an Arcana lance class ported from another client. Its armour and skills are in the data; it is not rollable yet, and the badge comes off when it is.

The shop, and what it is not

There is one, it is honest about itself, and none of it is required.

One catalogue, read live

Read live from the same catalogue the game client downloads, so the website follows a catalogue change without anyone editing a list by hand.

W-Coin

The shop currency. It can be bought, and it can be earned in game — the Cronous voucher shop trades a voucher item straight into an account balance.

No pay-to-win tier

There is no subscription and no donation rank. The gear ladder on this page is earned, in game, by everybody.
